Just happened to catch the wing movements of a swallowtail nectaring on my duranta purple sky flower bush. It also has a hole in the right hind wing.

Once you start noticing these things, you see that life as a butterfly isn't always that easy. You know it got caught or grabbed by something and it surely can't be easy to fly with that hole.
