Hi Cat, Welcome to DG from one part of Texas to another.
This is a wonderful site. Enjoy.

Edinburg, TX

Oooooooooooh, thanks for the warm welcome. =^..^=

Emma's been telling me about this place for a long time...and I've seen lots of her links as well as Joseph's on here - but as a non-member I couldn't see the photos. Figured it was high time to ween myself from the "other place" - and hop on board :o)

Thanks Ohio too! And PediRCNM - a valley-ite neighbor at that!!!

I've slacked off on planting Japanese morning glories. I'd been concentrating on butterfly and hummingbirg plants for my yard after the Christmas snow/freeze zapped my yard but now I keep seeing everyone's lovely MG photos...I'm going to have to get back into it - or figure out who to trade them to.

You'll most likely see posts from me in the butterfly and hummie forum...since I have more photos of those to share (show off) Ha! Ha!

by the way, my ipomoea ochracea has just about taken over my yard. It has covered my dining room window...latched onto a trellis I'd put aside by the back gate...climbed under that back side gate and is taking over another trellis that I have thunbergia growing on.

Lots of foliage...but no blooms yet. Am hoping it blooms this fall. It better or I'm ripping it out!!! :o)

This is a photo of it from December 2004...before the freeze/snow zapped it to the ground. (I'm sure some of you have seen this photo being used without my permission by people selling seeds on auction sites).

Once it blooms again I'll be posting new photos on the vines forum :o)

a bit late that I found this thread but welcome and thanks for the seeds I traded you for (I'm Dc from "the other place" :)) I only just realized that ochracea will only germinate for me with seedcoat nicking. How long did it take your vine to go from seeds to flowering time?

Thanks and welcome
-Zem
