Ive been talking to my ecuador pink brug all summer and it just wont Y for me so looking down into the pot I see this mass..it looks like a bunch of tiny stems trying to come up...but it just sits there all summer...what is this?.....Judy

LOL! It's a clump of stuff that happens. It won't grow into anything, so I would break it off. I've had it on one of my brugs for a couple of summers. I just dispose of it. Someone once said that it was caused by too much fertilizer, but I can guarantee you that I didn't over fertilize this summer. The poor things nearly starved to death.

I have a 12 footer in the ground and it has this in about a 2' circle or so. I just knock the top off ocassionally. It surely does not stop it from blooming. Looks weird though.
