Do you get a white milky substand and feels it little glue between your fingers. then I absolutly think it is a genuin rubber tree. have had many over the years and they look exactly like yours. I dont have one now and not any pics of it. Neighter do I now the latin name for it but I have also seen them in rubberplantations in thailand.

searched the net for pics of the rubberplant you have but could only find pictures of when someone is draning the plant from rubber and the tree are to tall to see the leaves but I have no doubt in what you have. the only pic there are of leaves in this family are those common they sell in everyday stores

just a note: it looks like it could use some feed, something with micro-nutrients. didn't mean to but in. debi

Debi, butt in all you want..this palnt is so new to me and I would love to make it grow huge..what kind of mico-nutrients are you talking about...?...Judy

sorry, forgot to watch the thread. i just meant a good all around slow release like osmocote, but one that says micro-nutrients on the label. most are just NPK and maybe a smidge of micros. peters makes a good liquid one too. i just feel better if i can buy the one with all the stuff in it (anal) LOL. micros consist of a lot of different trace elements that contribute to the overall health of the plant. while some plants may need an extra boost of ,say, iron, i think it makes better sense to have the "complete feed" already in the correct dosage. some nutrients don't react properly if you over do one and under do another. debi

OK, this is the year of buying tons of different fertilizers...I will check out for micro-nutrients..thanks for your thoguhts...Judy

didn't mean for you to go out and spend more money! try what you have first. i think the leaves will green just fine. my whole thought on buying a complete feed is so you don't have to buy a bunch of different ones! use what you have-tomorrow is another day. debi

Debi, since I came to Daves I have gotten so many new ideas and different fertilizers for all the different plants...now Im looking for alfalfa for my cereus..lolol...and you arent making me get more fertilizer...lol.....I just use people as excuses to go out and spend money on garden things...lol..Judy
