I have a bunch of lime green inch worm type cats on my brugs. My DS was here the other day and saw one..I told him to squish it...he said NO they become butterflies. So just to humor him I have not squished, but rather pitched in the grass or relocated to trees away from the brugs. I guess it's a Mom thing LOL Anyway, what butterfly or moth will they become? They have stripes runnin end to end on their lime green bodies. My poor leaves look like they came from a confetti factory. And boy do they poop! at least that's what I'm assuming the black spots are.
On a happy note...the seed pod that I picked from "Pooh" when Dennis was headed this way...seeds did NOT look ripe, but I soaked the 6 biggest, put them in dirt and 3 have sprouted! Really thought I was wasting my time. Hopefully I'll be able to get them all growed up and blooming....they will definately spend the winter in the house. :-)))
Caterpillar question
Ginger, They do turn into a moth but don't know which one it is. Maybe in the Slant-line family. The adult is small and nondescript if I remember correctly. These are some of the most destructive worms you can have because they hatch in such large numbers. Unlike some other cats this pretty green striped worm does not get more interesting as it gets older. I recently stomped 4 leaves that were covered with these newly hatched monsters. I say stomp and squish away!
Yup..that's the one. Thanks
