Pressing Flowers

Thornton, IL

Has anyone tried pressing flowers lately? I have a project in school (not due until Oct.) and I need to press 27 specific weeds and grasses: roots, stems, and flowers or seedheads. I got some info. online about how to make a flower press, which i know is not absolutely necessary, but I want the best possible results. Specimens have to be pressed, dried and mounted on herbarium paper using white glue. Any idea where I can find blotting and herbarium papers? Any suggestions at all about placing the specimens so that the plants aren't squished but nicely displayed? My thought is that, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Thanks.
