I bought this last year. The tag had faded and no one knew what the name was. The leaves are soft and velvet textured unlike my other Hardies. The plant is over 7 feet tall now. Any ideas on the name?
I posted a picture earlier but this is a better picture.
I haven't seen this before
Bet that is a Rose of Sharon of one type or another!! Yes--quite different, eh?!! Bonnie
Not a Rose of Sharon. I have several of them.
These flowers are about 8" across. I am sure it is a Hardy Hibiscus. I sent a picture to the garden center where I purchased it. They don't think they have it this year and aren't sure what it is.
It really don't matter, I love it anyway, I would just like to know the name.
Betty
I think that I found the name... Hibiscus grandiflorus (Velvet Mallow)
