Difference of Night and Day

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

What a nice surprise it was to see these blooms upon returning home after being away for several days. These are the first blooms this year on this cross because I only kept a cutting from last fall. I just wanted to show the difference of color at night and the color this morning and both colors are accurate. The difference is amazing and it is no wonder we see such a wide spectrum of color according to lighting. I wish it would get overcast today so I could see what hues would be picked up.

This cross is Rosamond x Lamour (A) and is Susie (Calalily) cross. It had pretty blooms last year and I hope this fall I have a full flush on it.

Edited to say that I can see that I posted a picture that I thought I took last night but it was actually at daybreak . I will locate and post a picture from last night.

I, too have seen such contrasting colors on the same brug in a matter of hours, and often cannot believe my eyes...but it's fun!!!

Looks great Frannie. I love the color on the right in the first shot.

Shirley, the one on the right is the picture I took when the sun came out this morning. The blooms really stand out in the garden.....lol....maybe it is because the only other brug blooming is Isabella which also has just a few blooms. I can't wait to get full flushes when the weather cools.

Those colors are spectacular...now where can I get this brug at?...I got a L'amour cutting recently and not sure if its going to make it..its looking rotted to the soil mark but I tugged and its holding...now to even think of crossing it with Rosamond is just awesome...Judy

Amazing how the lighting affects color! I love the ones that are more pink, without the orange overtones.

I don't think the bloom is as large as it was last year but it has been so hot and that does effect the bloom size for me. The coloring is the same as last year. Mid-day today the blooms were wilted because it is still in the upper 90's here and feels like an oven when I walk outside. They have perked back up tonight and the fragrance is wonderful.

Susie, has the one I sent you bloomed yet? I was wondering if the color was the same for you.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful, Frannie. You and Susie did great.

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Beautiful pink. Wish there was an aroma button on my computer that would transmit the fragrance.

I don't think I have this one. I lost a lot of the seedlings in the Christmas freeze and the ones left have lost their tags. I have a peachy colored one and a small pink one that have flowered.

Way to go, Susie and Frannie. I love the pink night photos the best.

Beautiful!
