To all who are kind enough to take in strays

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

One of the threads was talking about strays and I posted this as part of my message. After thinking about it I thought that it would be worthwhile to post it in the main forum as well. It's not something we think of very often, but not all strays are unloved (though many have been tossed out to fend for themselves). At least in my area the Animal Services/Humane Society has a book for found cats as well as lost ones. If you take in a stray please contact your local Animal center, see if anyone is looking for a cat of it's description and fill out the form for a found cat. It is also a good idea to put up found notices at places like the local pet store, or anywhere that you would put up lost fliers. In some ways it's harder not to know what happened to a lost animal then it is know that your animal has died.
