As Hurricane Katrina looks like a sure hit on the Louisiana coastline early tomorrow morning, please keep Dianne492 in your thoughts and prayers. She lives in New Iberia which I believe is west of New Orleans. I'm sure we have some other hoya folks in the vicinity as well. This is expected to be a catastrophic storm. It is only by the grace of mother nature that this is going to miss Houston and the Texas gulf coast. We are so overdue for a beating and yet so far we've been spared.

OT - Hurricane Katrina
My thoughts and prayers are with the people of LA. It is a terrible feeling knowing that you are in the path of a storm that big. I hope and pray everyone comes out of this safe.
Ditto!!
I have added all who are in the path of Hurricane Katrina to tomorrow's prayer list.
Blessings,
Awanda

Prayers going out for all who are in the vacinity of Katrina's path.
Maybe NOW the world will wake up to Global Warming!!!
Thoughts, prayers and mana going out there for all in harms way.
Carol
I think many of us have been eyeballing the TV on & off today to keep on top of this terrible happening. I don't have any relatives, down that way, but several friends, and also know of many people I hear from on these plant forums that live in that area. So my prayers are with all the people in those states in the path of it tonight also.
It seems to me that the weather patterns this year have been so strange.
Marcy
Yes, Carol.
This hurricane has everything to do with global warming. The increasing ferociousness of the hurricane seasons in our recent past and in our future are the direct result of global warming. In fact, those unfortunate souls who live in the path of such destruction are paying dearly for the decisions made, over the years, by those in the highest echelons of power (i.e. government, business, military, etc.). As usual, we are the ones who pay the consequences.
Thoughts & prayers to all in Katrina's way,
Ann
Global warming is right we still aren't getting any rain here. And the south keeps getting hammered by huricanes. The government makes me ill.
"the powers that be is what my Mom calls them".ie. big power & money!
All the action on Katrina is over here.

All of your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. We are all battened down and prepared as possible but who can really imagine what we are about to face. I just hope we escape the tornadoes that will form here on the north shore. And OHHHH---all of my passionvines---
Johanna
Covington, LA
Johanna - Gods' Strength to you!!! There are lots and LOTS of passionvines!!! It is hard to realize (I would be nuts with all my hoyas hanging around).. there is just one YOU and YOURS. Whatever you lose...we can all help to help you rebuild!!!
When I heard about Katrina at work last night, I immediately thought of my friends on DG. You are in my thoughts!
~Heather
We are also praying for you too. Deb

I have been watching the storm on and off all day and sending up lots of prayer for those of you who have to endure the storm. Please do check in and let us know you are OK.
I would like to thank you guys for thoughts and prayers for the gulf coast,We didn't have it too bad and feel so lucky to have dodged this one.We had flooding and really bad wind, lost a few plants, the wind knocked them into the bayou,it could have been so much worst!! Johanna's town for sure I know is flooded and no power and the power companies are telling everyone it will be weeks perhaps a month before power will be turned on,things are so messed up.Thank you again and please keep all those displaced people in your prayers.
Dianne
Dianne...thanks so much for letting us know! I'll bet your greenhouse took a hit...but at least YOU and yours are fine!!! thanks again. If you hear anything more about Johanna or her town, keep us in the loop, OK. Tah
