This is how a hummer changes direction and reverses in the air to go the opposite way.

1/125 f8 Canon300D Canon 70-200mm f4 L USM This shows how in some light hummers can show their iridescence. They in general do not display color as a safety measure. This is Big Red, the males have most of the color.

The colors on that bird are spetacular!!!

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

That is the same bird. They can show color or hide the color. For some reason he flashed and I got lucky. This is about all you ever see.

Gorgeous, gorgeous pics. I have to learn how to use my camera, I don't know that I could ever get shots like that, but I should really read my book anyway! LOL

No one else prolly even noticed this, but in the next to last pic, I loved the little feet. They are soooo tiny!!! :)

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

They perch, they don't really walk around. Think of being in a pool floating and to turn around how you would do it. They do the same thing in the air.

Northern Michigan, MI(Zone 5a)

Those are absolutely fantastic pics !!!!!!!!

Those last two are perfect! So, really, how did you come to take such great pics? Are you selling your pics? You should be, or at least should look into it. You secretly work for National Geographic don't you???

I love the "Samore" pic. Awesome!
