Kelli,

Very beautiful flower, thanks for sharing the picture! What other JMGs do you grow?

This is the only kind I have every tried. What is interesting about this particular plant is that it is blooming in the house. The plants I grew last year produced one seed. I was interested to see if the offspring would look like the parents, since this is supposed to be a hybrid. I planted the seed fairly recently in a small pot and kept it in the house so that it wouldn't dry out. The plant is still small, only about 4 inches, so I was reluctant to plant it outside yet (it is very hot), but even at that small size it bloomed. The flower itself is normal size.

Kelli,

Very interesting!! I am also growing Akatsuki no Umi indoors, and is happily flowering its head off as it were, I am amazed that I am also getting many seeds from it! I grew the Yojiro type which is a hybrid and it came true to type, making me a happy camper. Your vine will probably flower well into winter indoors if you let it do so.

I agree with Joseph, you've got a beautiful bloom there Kelli and how very interesting that you both are growing indoors!!!!
