That is no chipmunk..lol ..a prairie dog..shhhhh!!! Daisymae doesn't know..lol...she has her own 2 story apartment..
LOL Nadine. I am a city girl at heart. So are they good pets? Sweet Pea sure is cute. I just love animals. Growing up I always wished I lived on a farm.

I have no clue if they eat brugs..Sweet Pea eats food made for prairie dogs..and loves dog biscuits..and peanuts..lol...She has been good so far to me..she was a bit skiddish when we first got her but okay now...
Now wait until you see what else we got...mmm...

So how does one get a prairie dog as a pet? A pet store? Do you let her play outside and come in when she wants, like a cat?
Well maybe she likes to look at brugs? Just to stay on topic. LOL
We do have Gypsy Queen brug tree - umbrella style that shades her cage when she is outside ....she mostly sleep during the day! My daughter gave her to me from her friend( in the Air Force) who was shipped overseas to England..She does play in my bathroom-controlled play area..lol..We got her.. a roller ball !!! like hamsters have to roll around the house..bright red one..lol..
Oh a Gypsy Queen brug tree must provide lots of quality shade. LOL
So she is rodent like. LOL. Do you have a picture of her in her rollerball? I bet she is kick rolling around. How big is she. She looks in the pic so much bigger than a hamster or even a guinea pig.
We are gonna try the roller ball again this evening..she was just trying to figure out how to do it..not exactly rolling around yet...lol..

okay..I will take pic of her outside cage and brug tomorrow....she goes outside early in the morning before it gets too hot...but first need to cut grass..lol.....so I can see her to take pic..

Moodene, that is the fattest little praire dog I have ever seen....I was introduced to them when we were out in Wyoming...they loved to play around our cabin....he/she is the cutest little critter.....Judy
