Hi From Culpeper, Virginia

Culpeper, VA(Zone 7a)

Have been a long-time lurker for several years, & finally decided to join so I could interact with & learn from all you wonderful people!

I love gardening, & dabble with vegetables (particularly heirlooms), herbs (used to have my own small herbal landscaping business), & some flowers. Also LOVE to cook - particularly different ethnic cuisines.

Reside on 21 lovely acres along with 7 horses, 4 dogs, 6 cats, & a cockatoo (oh, & a husband, too - lol!!!)

Celina, TN(Zone 6b)

Good morning and welcome. I lived for a short time in Charlottesville, VA. I used to go to and thru Culpeper often. Such a beautiful area.

I don't know how long ago you were here in VA, but you wouldn't recognize Culpeper at all! It's done nearly a 100% turnabout just since we moved here 8 years ago.

Main Street & Historic Downtown have been completely renovated, but retaining the character of the historic buildings. We now have several art galleries, new 4-screen movie theatre, lots of cute little boutique-type shops, antique stores, several 4-star type gourmet restaurants, a couple of organic meat/local produce stores, a weekly Farmers Market, a Lowe's, a Home Depot on the way, etc., etc. The old train depot has been turned into a lovely Visitor's Center, & the decrepit old State Street Theatre on Main is currently being restored & will be used for local live theatre productions as well as old classic film showings.

When we first moved here the whole town looked as though a heavy sneeze would bring most of it down - now I can't imagine living anywhere else!!!!
