AnaM... this type is an ornamental not edible. The little nanners are about the size of a very thick thumb.

Thanks Cala

thanks all!

Ric, this one remains fairly on the small size. In the pot it is probably little over 6' including the bloom spike.

duh... I just returned from a trip to the swamp.. and this banana is about 4 1/2 feet tall.. I guess I wouldn't make a very good eyewitness to a crime.. LOL

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

That is so pretty! My three year old was looking and said it was pretty. She didn't believe you had bananas though because they are purple. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

They are so cute. Do they come in pink too??Your swamp is quite the growing bed for tropicals.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

The swamp is a great place for tropicals.. I even noted a heliconia coming back from our freeze.. can you believe that. My falling trees episode from the other day just missed my Chinese Yellow and Royal lavender by inches!! whew....
