Is there such thing as white colored spider mites? Do they make webs throughout your plant? I am spraying them with insecticidal soap, and have used the bayer tree and shrub on all my plants. I'm not sure if they are even mites. Does anyone have any suggestions?

White spider mites
I knew I saved this link for a reason: http://axp.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/selectnewpest.citrus.html
It shows great (!) photos of pests.

Heather...did a short google search...try this: http://www.ext.vt.edu/departments/entomology/ornamentals/spidermites.html
Did you see the mites? Is the damage similar to the ones above? The Bayer stuff won/t do anything for mites, but only kills off many of their predators...
If they are soft bodied...try an oil spray AFTER you give them a good shower with strong blasts of water to wash away any that might be under the leaves...then suffocate them with oil spray....
They might not be mites...but just White Spider....seems in Seattle we had that...could be a wrong name....

WOW...great link Christina.
Thanks for both links, Christina & Carol. I saved them both. Great reference. :)
These insects are so small, I can just see them on their web. There doesn't seem to be any damage to leaves yet. It's just webs across many of my plants. Great links both of you! I definitely think I have the two spotted spider mite. Looks awfully familiar! Now how to control it?

Blasts of water will dislodge them, knock out their eggs, break their webs and they hate wet!. An Oil Soap should keep them suffocated. I would repeat this process every couple of days until their life cycles are through and there are no more eggs. Or, if you want to go nuclear, look for a miticide for that specific mite...and repeat every X (hatching time for the eggs) number of days until no more.
