pond liner dilemma

Capistrano Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I recently moved into a house that has a concrete pool already laid in the back. it's small, not deep enough for koi, but deep enough for a pond... but there's cracks in it. we tried sealing them with quickcrete but to no avail... do you think there's any way other than buying expensive pvc liner that i could do this? would a lower gauge liner work? I really want a pond but i don't have the money to shell out for liner! hahaha. any tips would be appreciated. thanks!

Prior to buying a pvc liner for our cement pond, that also has cracks in it, we used a heavier ply black builders plastic.

Did you try hydraulic cement? Also did you use anything to bond the cements together?

How big is it?
