cindy, do they multiply for you? and thanks for answering

Capistrano Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

can someone send a picture of this growing in real life? is it really black or more green?

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I tried it growing it but it succumbed to overwatering or something(?) during the winter here (had to bring it indoors).....didn't grow back and the bulb/corm was just 'gone'!!

I absolutely love it and I'm gonna try it again...it's on my 'Want List'.

naien...it's a very, very deep green to burgundy with incredible iridescent pink spots!

Vossner...I think you would find more people growing it on the Tropicals forum.

I grow them I have to dig and store them for the winter. They do multiply. Yet they dont show thier true colors until the second year.

Vossner....I have a bicolor rudbeck as well.....I grow tons and tons of different variety caladiums. This seems to be different than the rest. Much more like a smaller elephant ear? Pretty, very pretty, but not like the rest of the caladiums I have.

MM, do you have a pix of bicolir rudbekia? I'ld like to see that. I found the dark bicolor caladium locally, it was sad looking plant, but I got it reduced and planted it in september. I hope it will come back. I had read that they are more like an EE.

I'll take a pic in the morning and send....It's down to one leaf right now, due to the chilly nights, but seems to be holding on. The colors have been beautiful, and the leaves have been very large and tall.
I think we must have a lot of the same things in our yards, we meet on a lot of different threads and forums! :)

Vossner...Here's your pic of the BiColor Rudbeckia...it's the end of the year, so starting to look punkish (I've also admittedly been neglecting it).

Voss...duh, I mean BiColor Rubicundrum, not reubeckia,lol....Anywhooo.....Her'e a pic of the leaf with my hand on it, for a size reference, much bigger than your normal caladium. The leaves used to be darker, so don't know if it's green because of the intense shade it's in right now, or neglect, or overwatering (it's been sitting submerged for a while now-another non-caladium habit)

There are some caldiums on the sides of it, just for a leaf size comparison....I'm really liking this now, and will take much better care of it from now on!
