RU Brug

Campbell River, BC(Zone 8a)

I was wondering if anyone who got one of the Insignis Gold x Insignis Pink brug seedlings at the RU has any blooms yet. I still had 11 of them and I got my first bloom a few days ago.

It'll be interesting to compare them and see if any of them have some colour.

I have one Sandy, but it isn't blooming yet. Very big and healthy though, and it's inspiring to know how lovely the blossoms are when it finally does. :)

Don't worry, I'll be in touch when there are any new developments. :Donna

I realise it's nothing "special" but since my only other white brug has been disappointing I'm pleased to have this white one. I think Jeanne told me that you usually get lots of white blooms when you grow out seeds.

Good Donna, one more thing we can keep in touch over. :-) (I've got to go to that info thread where they tell you how to make those bold.) I recently transplanted the little brug you gave me at the RU into a 2 gal. pot so it's doing well too.

That's the other brug that I traded with you Ingrid. It was a cutting of Kyle's Pink only Jeanne thinks it was mislabeled so I guess it's an unnamed one. It's still my favourite one. I really like the shape of the flowers. It's nice to see that it's done so well and is blooming for you. :-)

hey ingrid how are you, nice to see your post.

I was thinking that I should have explained a bit more about that plant Ingrid. The reason it's probably not Kyle's Pink is because the blooms were never pink for Jeanne and they have never been pink for me either, no matter what the temperature has been. It's more peach. The warmer it is the paler they seem to be. It was darker in the solarium in January than it's been this summer. I think I gave cuttings to a couple of other people too so they should change the name tags as well. I also wanted to say that it's my favourite out of all my plants that have bloomed so far. I still have quite a few I have yet to see bloom. Many won't be blooming until next year because they're still quite small. :-)

Hi Sandy, so this is an un-named one..from what your saying?
It was intersting as the bloom was developing it was deeper and then it went lighter in colour.Like yellow shade to pale cream colour.

Hi Ingrid. Yes, it should have had a name tag in the pot when you got it. See if it says Kyle's Pink. If it does then you should take it out or change it. I got the big plant that the cutting came off from Jeanne. She doesn't think it is Kyle's Pink because it doesn't look like Kyle's Pink. Sorry about that.
