Can someone tell me what's happening?

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

My Perry D Slocumn looks like it is dying! All my leaves are looking burnt. It's starting from the outside of the leaf and it's working to the middle. They are no new leaves coming. I have it in full sun, I thought that it likes that. I fert it every week with a half diluted solution of fert. My dwarf is also begining to look the same. What am I doing wrong? This is my first year growing lotus. Thanks, Melanie

I am having a similar problem with my Mrs Perry D. We are in a similar zone . I do have a few new leaves coming out. I wonder if this excessive heat we have been having is the cause...mine is in full sun also.

this is the time of year they start shutting down in my zone. so all of ours look yucky also

I bet your right, it's the heat!! Yesterday with the heat index it was 105.

It is probably a combination of the heat and what annac213 said. The end of summer approaching. Just so they dont die !!!

they wont die they are just starting to shut down for the year

Mine are still huge and green. Does anyone how to dig them up?

If they are starting to shut down now, when in the world do they start up in the spring?

Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

Mine grow from late Feb to early Dec.

last fall was my first year with them....they do shut down somewhat early and seem to take forever to come out in spring - so dont get in a hurry to consider them dead and throw them out :)

I think I remember seeing some growing starting in April...once started they grow quickly.
