Freezing Kale?

Hi,
I would like to freeze Kale so that I can make Kale soup throughout the year. Is there anyone out there that has successfully frozen kale? I was thinking that I would prepare it by "shredding/shaving" it, then blanch the Kale, and then freeze it in a foodsaver bag - does this make sense?
