advice from all you guys (and gals) on bok choi?

saugatuck, MI(Zone 6a)

today i finished cleaning out my two community garden beds, gave them a good forking, raked em flat again and put in 56 feet of bok choi seed.

is my timing right on this? will they bolt? will there be enough weather to get a harvest out?

(only 5 years gardening here so far and am also trying bok choi here for the first time this year)

any help appreciated, thanks.

It's been many years since I planted that. Good luck with it. I am not sure on timing but hope it does well for you.

thanks hemlady. at least it WILL grow here LOL.

(hoping somebody knows something out there...) would it help to know bok choi is a kind of cabbage?

they're UP! went out to check after a pretty good rainstorm early this morning--they are 1/16" tall *GRIN*.

supposed to be 45 days to harvest, full-o-iron, subtle licorice flavor, use the stems as well as the leaf, fresh, fozen, or dried, and better per-pound yields than cabbages.

plus, i figure none of the michigan bugs even know what this stuff IS.
