Hau in Bloom

this hibiscus tilleaceus is in bloom in a 10 in pot, even my tree hasn't bloomed before, so I' finally got a pic!The flowers are yellow in the morning and turn orange to red to copper in the evening

WOW your hibiscus is something to look at. I can't believe it turns all those different colors in one day. This one is a tropical, I would like one of those in a hardy.

in certain parts of the world they batter the flowers and fry them in deep oil. when i visited hawaii once the resort had a whole "wall" of these down one side of the property line. it was a beautiful sight in the afternoon when they started changing! debi

debi, I have had squash flowers fried, but not these,..but then even roadkill would probably taste good deep fat fried!!LOL
