She is so beautiful!

Yes, she is. Very nice.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

But that was then

This is my Tuffy today. She is snapping out of a major temper tantrum. Her flowers are 6" instead of the normal 10.5-11. She does not care what the environment is or what her nutritional needs might be, she's gonna flower no matter what! I love Tuffy!

This is your Tuffy on drugs!

Her edges look like she has been piped with a slightly lighter color, VERY nice!!! Is she fragrant???

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Lol, Vicki, what a wonderful brug....even on drugs! hahaha
I really love her color, and her name, perfect!

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Soooo tell us about the pruning you did to get her to bloom all over the plant? Everyone needs a Tuffy!!! When the going gets tough, she gets going!! Don't you just love it!!

I love my pink brugs but we've see so many posted on this forum that it's refreshing to see Tuffy!!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

She belongs to H-Susie SP-Scooerbug.
The piped look is just a lighting thing!
Fragrance is barely noticeable but her flowering habit is unequaled to any other brug I've ever owned. She flowers continuously for about 2 months then takes a break for about a month and starts all over again.

Yes Tuffy is a great name for this brug! :)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I never prune her. She's a natural!

Myrtle Beach, SC

Tuffy is just beautiful !!! That first picture is one to drool over :))

She is a beauty!!

Aberdeen, NC

Poor Tuffy, what happened to her??? She looks whipped compared to her former self. Still a beautiful brug!!
Everyone needs one in their garden.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Gorgeous !!! Seems like I hardly ever see a yellow brug! Very nice!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Love the tendrils and the bright color!!!

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

I love Tuffy's color and long tendrils.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I thought I'd already posted this (stayed out in the sun too long I guess) - Tuffy's piping gives her an elegant look, she is a pretty girl, I love her tendrils and her feminine appearance...

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Karen, Tuffy started to rebel when my neighbor cut down his tree that gave her protection from the sun in the hottest scorching part of the day. I have no other explanation. She is fed and watered properly, is not pest prone and has no other excuses as far as I know. She's finally snapping out of it. She has always produced flowers that point up, down, to the side and every way possible.
My x candida pink flowers are smaller than normal too. They did the same thing last year. Seems to be common in real high heat for some brugs in my growing environment.

Aberdeen, NC

That is probably what I can expect from my brugs if they are in full sun then. I find the before and after photos very interesting. Good example of differences from growing conditions. Thanks,
Karen

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

It's got a little daturesque look besides, with the blooms pointing up.

I'm guessing it has the lite citrusy scent?? Still a pretty flower.

Thats all the Tropical Sunset gave me in heat. Now with some nights cooling off it's started flowering with the orange rim.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Very pretty. I love that first picture.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

She is beautiful. I like the clear yellow color.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Gorgeous!!!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Check out what she did this past January. The day temp was low 60's and there was a possibility that temps would get down to 32 degrees that night. I rescued Tuffy and brought her inside. I didn't want anything bad to happen to her 2 beautiful yellow flowers.
I woke up the next morning to find orange Tuffy flowers. The picture shows it darker than it really was but believe me she was a noticeable orange. She has never had orange flowers again.

Great pictures of Tuffy. Do you notice that she likes to bloom mainly on the big stems? Mine is doing that and I hope she will get wider at the top and make a canope and bloom from it. She is a good yellow and I'm sure keeping mine.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Ms V she is beautifulllllll

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

hiya V

Thanks for posting this, I just knew she would love it by you.

Fragrance wise I found her to be babypowder/rosewater and she perfumed my whole garden when the temps were below 90's.

Brugie, She has a real tight canopy this year for me and except for this years first flush , her blooms are almost hidden.

Sure hope she stretches out somewhat altho I seem to remember last year that she wanted to be tree form then too.

I like that !

Laurens, SC(Zone 8a)

Well......if you have any Tuffy cuttings available this year I would surely love to add her to my collection!! hehehe WOW!! What a form and blooming all over like that!! Excellent!! Bonnie

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Almost every single little side branch up and down all 4 limbs bears at least one flower. Some have two.

Yes Shirley I did notice. Odd but neat!

Gosh Bonnie, Since you're so sensitive to brug juice to cause you being rushed to the ER , why would you want another one ?

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Vee, in the next to the last photo, her leaves seem to be piped too. Does it appear that way on your side??? I love the piping effect, even if it is only photos, there's a place for photogenic brugs!!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Sherry what you see could be your monitor or Vicki's camera setting.

I have not seen a piping effect in two years of growing her.

Wouldn't it be neat to have a pure white with red piping or picotte edge ?

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

Ooooh, she is a beauty! Definitely one to look for!!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I went back and looked closely and the first photo, the blooms, and the next to the last photo, the leaves, are the only two that appear to be piped or picotte edged, so it must be like you said, my monitor or the setting, the look is rich and substantial, with nice body. On my monitor, the leaves appear as if variegated and I'm a variegated addict, just love it!! The bloom stands alone and is lovely any way I view her!!! Oooops, the leaves in the 2nd photo appear piped, too, but I'm betting the leaves are really fuzzy, giving it that look, again, a look I love!!!

Laurens, SC(Zone 8a)

scooterbug--I am not the one rushed to the ER. That is a story someone at another garden club shared. I have had no problems whatsoever--good thing since I have several different kinds and trading this Fall for several more!! Bonnie

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Ohhhhh , Great !

I'm so glad for you.
