This time I found her in my Goldfish pond asleep. I accidently disturbed her, she flew off then came back. The pond is in the shade for the first half of the day. I wonder where she will spend the afternoon.

Luna Moth Again...
Beautiful, but I hope she doesn't become lunch for some frog!

So beautiful! What does the cat look like? I'll bet it is really pretty.
You are just bragging, and it's not fair! ;) They are beautiful, and my favorite color.
Vee8ch I don't know that I have seen the cat. The only cats I can recall seeing around here were solid black wooly bugger looking cats.
konkreteblond - Lol lol Copy the picture for your computer wallpaper!!

Judy, So pretty. I had one in my car on the way to work one day. I left the windows down thinking it would get out. When I came back at lunch the inside of the car was covered with eggs. LOL LOL
Great Day In The Morning!!! What a problem (what to do what to do) and what a mess.

Been a long time, I don't remember how I got rid of them. I do remember... Don't EVER let a Luna moth inside. LOL
What trees are in your areas that they are using?
I've only seen them on my porch and in my Goldfish Pond. I live in the middle of the woods, mostly Oak, giant trees.

I've never seen a Luna moth before, she is beautiful, but, if that wasn't obviously a photo I wouldn't believe that the color or the marking really existed like that.
They really are ghost like in appearance. I remember finding one when I was little and I put it in a coffee can to take to school the following morning. Apparently it was frantic over night and badly broke up it's wings by morning. I felt so awful. I think that is when I decided it is better to enjoy something for a moment than to try to capture it. Lesson learned!
I so hope your 8 yr old feels special. Indian belief of "if a butterfly lands on you it means good luck" I think holds true for the Luna Moth, even if only lucky enough to see one that close.
I so enjoyed your pictures. Thanks for posting here.
Judy
I will be sure to tell her. Your moth looked lonely so I shared mine. :)
