I don't remember who made the comment, but it definitely looks like a poodle skirted girl, very pretty.

very nice combination.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Thank You!
I hope she stays this way forever and does well during evaluations! I have dibs on the possible name 'Poppysue' for this one. I know it ain't a poppy but it just feels like the best name to me. A nice namesake for Poppysue!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Pretty, Vicki. How did you get it to bloom so short?? Did you grow it from a seed or from a cutting? I love the pink/purple combo too. Good job Poppysue.

Hull,Ga, GA(Zone 8a)

WOW! They are really beautiful...Pink is so pretty....

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

The blooms look great! Very pretty combination.

Hey Vicki,

I sure do like the looks of this brug! The color is a clear, soft pink. I like the way the corolla just seems to "POP" out of the calyx. ;)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Linda this was a cutting from a seedling that Poppysue could not winter over last year. It grew very well for me and got pretty tall but then it started to have bad leaf curling mite problems. Chemical treatments did not last so I cut her top off and trashed it. Poor thing! It's a miracle she is still here. She almost got trashed completely.

David I like the pop out of the calyx look about her too. My Ciera started out like that and so did Daddy's Alice M. but they didn't stay that way. They both matured to have a longer more versicolor-like form.
David your OK has two buds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Crumpler, WV

Oh Vicki,

I am so glad that OK has buds for you!!! You and Brugie are the only ones that I know of that has buds/blooms on OK. The mother plant has still yet to make a Y :( The cuttings you and Brugie got were little side shoots. Lucky you'll.

Please, pretty, pretty please, email me with pics when he does bloom. :)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Without a doubt you'll get pics David. I took pictures of the biggest bud a couple of days ago to send to you. I'm soooo looking forward to these gorgeous orange flowers!

Myrtle Beach, SC

Wow , she shore is purty !

Funny, I tossed Dr.D last year , she just didn't bloom worth a darn for me.

For sure Poppysue knew what to do with it and did it well !

very pretty Ms V

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)

What a gorgeous setting!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

A strong healthy plant that is really taking off but she'll never make it thru evaluations :( Her flowers do not last more than a day. And they wilt terribly in the heat. The only time they are pretty is first thing in the morning but they are dead by the next morning. I can deal with droopy flowers but only if they last for many days like Isabella. I'm still gonna keep her for awhile longer ... just because.

Too bad she doesn't last longer. I really like the coloring on her, especially against your purples.

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh, that's too bad. I liked the swirly skirt!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

V,

That's the main reason I trashed my Dr.D

Sorry that trait was passed on, your seedling sure is beautiful tho.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Because of the Katrina storm we've had three days of clouds and sun mixed. These flowers have lasted almost 3 days so far. Never wilted one time. A little wind tattered but still perky. This one might make a good shade brug. Time will tell.

The flowers are not completely pink. See the white neck? From corolla edge to edge the flowers are 7" wide. The points are 3 inches long making the entire flower 13 inches wide point tip to point tip. She's a full figured woman.

Bad pic of the mouth but you can see the white in there too.
