The 2nd seedling from this batch (P802) has opened and is much darker. It had color before it even started opening tonight.
pod mates - 'unk. pale pink suaveolens' x Adora
I bet it is even darker tomorrow. What a great dark rim.
they are all beautiful!
Dear Blaine,
looks like P802 took after her daddy (Adora) :-) AND that makes me really happy for you!!! You've done such an EXCELLENT job growing out the seeds of my experiment lol...She is really such a beautiful flower and the shape, form and color is also taking after her daddy "Adora" When I chose those two brugs to experiment to see if I could accomplish pollinating brugs, my vision at that time was to make this pale pink unknown brug a darker color but to also give the genes of Adora's size, form and...from pale pink to what you've got! Large flushes are also from the Daddy!!! Mission accomplished!!! One more reason I chose this one is one you stated already. The fragrance will knock you over it's so awesome!
Mother's Day is Gorgeous and the other's too! I can't wait to see if they got any darker for you.
Thank you so much for all the love and nurturing you have and continue to do. You are truly an asset to DG and anyone should be honored to have you, my friend, grow out seedlings for them. You're the Best!
((((Blaine))))

Beautiful.. you sure have them blooming.. well now remember you will surely have way to many seeds .hmm?/ great pictures to.. i never heard of mother's day either... very pretty..
Twyla
They look great! That color on the 1st one is wonderful for the 1st day open.
Such nice colors - and if the fragrance is all you say, several must be real keepers!
Twyla - I just called that one 'Mother's Day' because it was when I put the seedling in this big container I found then sent a pic to Julie.. 'Hi Mom! Happy Mother's Day'. :) I doubt Oh, and I won't have any seeds from these, They're the 8 that sprouted from the 10 seeds Julie sent me. I'll guess there would be cuttings though.
Then I decided if it was a keeper, that'd be it's in-house name.
You're most welcome Julie. I'm real curious about that P802 that is so much darker. The others are all pretty much the same. P802 has/had darker foliage and not as smooth as the other ones. Different girl.
That is the challenge of growing so many from the same pod. Only one out of many can be a keeper, if that. And you spend so much time and energy growing so many others out. I always am afraid that the seedling I killed in error is the only special one out of the pod. Some crosses put out all similar blooms and others so many are different. The fun and the challenge of it all I guess.
well it is a good name though to.. lovely ok.. i will just want.. thanks..
Slobber is running down my chin! Awesome!
;)
ALL of them are beautiful. Love the color, shape, and the flips WOW! Don't you just love the size?? Gotta love it Blaine!! Your pics are lovely too, could be a card!!!
That last shot wasn't easy was it?
;)
I love the waxy look of Adora and the P8Crew most definately took after daddy in so many ways. Good Job!
Such a big one, Blaine. And if it acts like the other Frosty types, they should be in bloom all the time. A definite plus.
oH YES, the Adora (I can't say enough about this one) it's my favorite and flushes are plenty, big flushes. pale pink did well last year too and continues to, so with both of these as parents, it's got to be winner's.
Gorgeous. Jeanette
That beauty with the recurve needs to make a trip to Arky, via cutting, to see if that sweet thing likes the heat/humidiy. Is she can make it in southeast Arky, she can make it anyplace. She is a knockout!!!!
I failed to say the most important thing, many congrats to Blaine and Julie, they are all soooo pretty!!!
Blaine, those are totally awesome flowers. I can't believe the size of the one where you compared your hand to it. Sigh.....
:) Donna
Way to Grow, Blaine!!! They are all beautiful...so big and....and....lush!
Carol
