:) Donna
113, so the brug is doing great but are you??? That is too hot. Is that unusual for where you are or the usual temp?
A fantastic brug, Barb. A real beauty even in such heat.
Just beautiful! Congratulations. Looks like a large bloom.
Sherrylike, MS Harry Calvin is my husband.
8ftbed-incredible fragrance. Had to bring it -thought it was going to rain( Silly me-We need rain so bad. ) and the fragrance is overpowering.
AlohaHoya, It is one of my hybrids. Have a lot of the same crosses that haven't bloomed yet and am hoping for some more lovelies.
Kell, This time of year the heat index is always high. I am not doing very well-cervical pain and can't get relief. None of treatments work.
Thanks everyone for the kind remarks. I am rather proud to have the good fortune to luck into such a beautiful cross. Did I mention that is is huge and the segment lines stay green(can't see that in the photo. They are very pronounced. Also the corolla walls are very thick, which is great in our heat. The flowers are obviously a heat lover. LOL The flowers are almost 20 inches long and the tendrils are 3" plus-and are wider than usual. The color is like the inside of a cantaloupe. Will use the color chart on it tomorrow.
Definitely a wonderful one, holds up to heat and lucious coloring!
Beautiful!
Gosh, I love the color on this one. Great looking skirt on it.
Congrats Barb on your new beauty! Love the color and tendrils.
What a gorgeous brug! Congratulations!
This brug sounds so good!!! And it must be if you named it for your husband.
I am so sorry to hear you are still in pain. And to be so hot too. I hope you feel better soon, Barb. You have really had a hard time of it all. Must be hard to get out there and take care of your incredible plants. Especially in the heat.
Awesome Barb. I know you are really proud of it.
What a beauty ... nice color!! Congrats Barb. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Donna you were a couple of day to early. It is a shame you couldn't see it in bloom.
It's a beauty, Barb.
Congrats Barbara, I love the color.
I really like the color. Very pretty.
Barbara... that is drop dead gorgeous. I love the shape, color and long tendrils.. and that it held up in this intense heat and humidity proves that it is a true southerner!
Great color! How long do the blooms last in your heat? I'm find that 3 day or so is the best I get here in NE. Do those of you in better climates find that yours last longer?
Susan
Very nice!
I think I'm gonna have to love this one!!
Barb,
Back and neck pain are just the worst! Hope you feel better soon!
I had a herniated disc and back surgery about 6 years ago. It helped a lot. Now I'm having renewed pain so I had an MRI a couple weeks ago. Won't know results until I see the Specialist on September 9th. Couldn't get in sooner. HMO's are such a pain. Everything is delayed. I think they hope you'll just give up and go away so you don't cost them any profit. I think a lot of gardeners get back and neck problems. We're always bending over and lifting pots, etc. Still wouldn't give it up though.

Good luck, Mary, I hope you are 100% soon!!!
That is an amazing brugmanisa.. I love the color very interesting! way to go!
Beautiful Barbara and I love the color. Strong bloom, strong fragrance, and blooming in this heat..........it just does not get any better than that. Harry must feel very proud to have such a lovely brug named after him.
I am sorry that you are having pain and I hope the doctor can help you with it and that it is not permanent.
Susan, the blooms last 3-4 days. They start wilting and looking bad on the 4th day. I think that is the life span of most flowers even in the cooler weather. I like this one for the thick corolla walls and thick tendrils, which help in our heat.
