It's amazing the difference temperature makes in the color of this brug. Here it is in 99 Degrees, 42% Hudimity, 108 Heat Index. Love the color!!!

Dr Suess (99 Degrees, 108 Heat Index)
Looks great! I sure wouldnt have been out snapping pictures in that heat! LOL. Very pretty.
Ooops I better explain my posting... that was how hot it got today. It was 97 yesterday and I took the picture earlier today when it was about 88 degrees. Sorry didn't mean to mislead.

Twyla..
Boy, there is a lot of change in the coloring on Dr. Seuss.
Beautiful pics. Does anything else effect the color besides heat?
Karen
I don't have enough experience to know, but some of my pinks are darker in cooler weather, it appears it may be just the opposite for Dr S. Interesting!!!

Beautiful Judy, and so healthy and she must love the heat/humidity, so pretty and I love the color. Dr. Suess did not like it here, I did everything to please her and she was the starter brug I wanted the most, she had 'failure to thrive', wintered outside, came up nicely, but, yet again, did not thrive. I passed up Chas G for Suess, and recently received CG cuttings, and my word, what a difference, she loves it. Yours is the prettiest Dr. S I've seen, I've never seen it that color, very nice (mine was pale yellow)...
Great color, Judy.
That's gorgeous, Judy !! Yours appears to have an apricot glow to it, while mine goes toward tangerine. Must be heat and humidity...or maybe the salt in my air. (heeheeheee)
I love yours.
Margo
Sherry,
Interesting information on your Dr S. I have a couple of brugs that "just ain't right" and I'm begining to wonder if they don't have a virus or something else that has cause them not to thrive. I got them from the same "grower", but I also got some others that really thrived from this same company. As soon as it cools down a bit or a storm blows through, I'm going to repot them and in the process check the roots to see if I can identify a problem.
Judy
Margo,
Please post a picture of your on this thread.

Judy, Great shot and she's lovely :-)
Judy, my Dr. S had absolutely nothing on her that would indicate mildew or insect problems or fungus, she was clean as a whistle, no chemical problems or bugs, which is why I was perplexed, there just wasn't an answer. I dunno. I put a second year seedling in the spot and she's just fine. I wish I had an answer. Some things are just not meant to be.
Mine haven't been so orangey. I have another flush coming on.. I'll have to get pics this time if I can get back to him.
8ft, please make note of the Heat Index etc. when you post your picture.
Thanks so much.
Judy
Will do, but I'm betting our 'heat' index worries for 2005 are pretty much over.
The one plant will start opening in the next day or two I think and tomorrow our high is only going to be in the 70's. Fall is approaching.
Oh Lordy!! Wash your mouth out!!! Down here we use October 30 as the date to bring in the plants, but keep a close eye on the weather from October 15 on, just in case we get an early frost. I don't even want to start thinking about Fall when I have so many Brug seedlings that need to be repotted. Most of these were started from seeds on 5/12/05

We got through November without a freeze last year. Here is a thread about Judy's Jungle Goes Under Wraps

I learned from our local weather persons that heat index does not affect plants. Has anyone else heard this before?
Love that orange!
Last year, our first hard freeze was Dec 15 and a couple of days later, it was almost 70 degrees. I love that kind of winter...
Beautiful color Judy. Dr Suess is about the only Brug in my garden that had decent flush of flowers this summer with the unusual 90 degree temps we had.
