Very nice! I"d grow them for the leaves alone!

Me too!

Someone gave me seeds for Purple Arrowhead last year but no instructions on how to grow them. I would rather trade for the plants anyway! hehehe I am too impatient so some of the things that take years from seed to be anything significant, you know?!! Any to spare?? Bonnie

My Arrowheads have blooms with a small purple dot on one petal. Should've got some pictures last week ...

Tropicman The arrowhead you shared with me has new leaves on it--happened to notice the other day!! Thanks again!! Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,
Glad to hear that, they grow real fast, and will take over quickly if you don't keep an eye on them.
That leaf will get a lot bigger everyday, amazing how fast they can grow!!!

Well, since I JUST bought a larger container this weekend and I had just gotten some Horsetail I went ahead and potted up the horsetail and the Arrowhead. The roots looked liek they were getting mushy and the arrowhead?? Maybe cause they were only in water?? Thanks!! My container pond looks much roomier and nicer now!! Only need a few mosquito fish to eat the stinking mosquito and I am done I think--well, once my Water Lily gets here! hehehe (But then, when is any gardener ever REALLY done?!!)

Bog,does your leaves get as big as a foot long?

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)

This is its first year, so I am unsure, but at this point, they're probably a good 8"+ tip-to-tips.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Yes most of mine are running about that too, altho some have become as much as a foot, thanks.

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Wow! Yeah, I hope mine come back stronger next year ... just my luck the ones I have here are stinkin tropicals, though! lol

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well I hope they winter over,in your zone 7!

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Aren't there some tropical arrowheads that wouldn't winter over in 6b/7a? I honestly have no clue ...

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Clueless here as well!!!

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)
