CLOSED: Seeds in exchange for US stamps

oiartzun-near san se, Spain(Zone 8a)

I can't join in the 'for SASBE or SASE ' offers as I can't buy US stamps in Spain, SO, I thought some of you might be interested in sending me unused postage stamps in exchange for seeds. Say one dollar's worth?
I have quite a few flower and veg seeds listed in the trading exchange.LMK if there's anything you'd be interested in in exchange for stamps which I can then use to put on SASES and participate in more offers. Thanks,

I'd be happy to help you out. Will look to see what you have and get back to you.

Thanks Stownes. I hope there is something you want.

Would love to hav some columbine, love in a mist, potentilla, and italian parsley. How many stamps would that be?

oiartzun-near san se, Spain(Zone 8a)

Does one dollar 50 sound fair for those? That's about what it will cost me in euros to send them to you. BTW, I'm in the addy exchange- are you?
Thanks, Maggi xxxx

Farmington, KY(Zone 7a)

Can you mail US stamps from Spain? How would that be different from a SASE? Or are you just collecting stamps? If you are collecting I have many old mint US stamps I can trade as I collect stamps.
I'll check your list.

Dave, No, I can't mail US stamps from Spain. The idea is to send a SASE with US postage on it inside another envelope with Spanish stamps on it, so that I can participate in those offers where the trader only requires a SASE, not a seed trade. However, I do collect stamps, so would be willing to swap used stamps for seeds too...

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

Sounds fair to me. Do you want 37 cent stamps or other. Let me know and I'll get them out Monday. I have to stay home today to wait for a delivery scheduled for between 9 and 3 - very convenient. Guess I'll spend the time digging weeds, which seems to be my new hobby.

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

Oops - yes, I am in the exchange.

I would like to have some of your seeds:
Rosemary-Creeping
Viola-Johnny Jump-up

Will be glad to send you stamps in exchange.
If you will tell me what you are looking for I can
also send some seeds.
Cynthia

Cynthia, a one dollar stamp for these two would be just what I need. I'll post you the seeds on Monday. Thanks for trading with me.

Stownes, That's great. I'll send your seeds off on Monday. Thankyou.
Maggi xxxx
PS.The cheapest cost of postage from the US to Spain seems to be 80 cents, judging from trades I've received. So stamps of this value or less would be ideal - whatever is easiest for you. If you only have 37 cent stamps then send 4 of those.

Maggie, do you know about International Reply Coupons (IRC's)?

Because I am in Australia, the conventional SASE does not work, but I have learned that you can buy an International reply coupon at your post office.

International reply coupons (IRCs) provide a convenient method for you to prepay replies from foreign countries. You can send your correspondent one or more coupons. Your correspondent exchanges the coupon for postage in his or her country. One coupon in the United States is exchangeable in any other participating member country for a stamp or stamps representing the minimum postage required for an unregistered airmail letter. If you are sending something that requires more postage than a standard letter, you should inquire with the appropriate foreign postal administration about how many IRCs will be needed to complete your transaction."

Enquire at your post office. I think you will find the cheme applies in Spain as well and you can send an IRC instead of postage to America, or receive an IRC from America (or anywhere else) in lieu of receiving postage.

They have worked well for me,

Ken

Thanks Ken. I didn't know about these. I'll enquire in my post office on Monday. I still want US stamps though if possible- like that I can send what will hopefully be more than enough postage and if I send too much the trader could return the excess with my seeds.

Magi
The Post Office is very close to my office, so I will run by and see if I can get 20 cent stamps for you. No point using more postage than necessary :)

Stownes, you are so considerate I'm overwhelmed. I've just replied to your email BTW.
A BIG thankyou for all your kind help.

Hi Diana. Just send me one dollar in stamps (preferably 5 x 20 cents) and they are yours.
My address is in the addy exchange.
Thanks for trading with me.

Maggi - I hope all those are in addition to their SASBE!! Necessity is the mother of invention. Good way to get the US stamps for your future SASEs! Good Luck! ~ Suzi :)

oiartzun-near san se, Spain(Zone 8a)

Thanks Suzi. So far so good. I'm probably being thick, but I don't understand when you say 'I hope all those are in addition to their SASBE'. All what?
What sasbe? Sorry to be so dense- it's after midnight here so that's my excuse!
Maggi xxxx
PS. Don't forget to LMK what I can send you in exchange for the hibiscus seeds you're sending me

Maggi - In addition to... as in, they send you a SASBE for the items you are sending them, plus the stamps for trade, so that you will have some to put on your SASEs for future US trades. ~ Suzi :)

oiartzun-near san se, Spain(Zone 8a)

Umm , just one problem with that Suzi - they can't send me a sasbe because they can't put Spanish stamps on them- same problem in reverse! So I'm not expecting to more than cover postage of the seeds I send, but that's OK. My aim is to be able to respond to 'send a sasbe' offers in future.
I hope this makes sense- I don't think I'm explaining very well. I've confused myself now anyway! lol

Hey all! I was wondering if anyone has heard from Sorgina since 9/3/2005. I was going to send her an envelope of stamps, but am not sure how to address foreign mail. Sent her 3 D-mails, and one today! Haven't heard anything back.

Is she O-kay??? I mean does anyone know if something happened, did she go on vacation or something. I was upset at first, now I'm worried about her!

Sue

Found her. She just hadn't been online in a few days.

Hairgirl, you have D- mail. I've closed this thread now as thanks to everyone's generosity I have plenty of US stamps to join in the SASBE swaps. Many, many thanks to everyone that helped me.
