Charlotte,

I'm hopeful that yours will be like mine and really stand up to the heat. Isn't it the most wonderful of the Brugs!!! If you go outside now the fragrance will be devine!!!

This one has to be my all time favorite. It has stood up to our heat all summer and has consistenly bloomed for me. And the fragrance is wonderful in the mornings and evenings.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

oh thats beautiful... hm.. very good picture...

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

Such a swirl - and in her pink tutu.Just love it!

Indiantown, FL

Mine won't open all the way before turning brown. It won't drop it's inner skirt. It is hot and humid here, in the low to mid 90's. But if everyone else's are opening maybe as mine matures it might do better.

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Charlotteda,
I've had mine since April. Its first few blooms turned pale peach. Starting in mid-June through most of July, it had the same problems ConnieMounts mentioned. Suddenly, late July and early this month it put out over 2 dozen perfect blooms, no brown at all. They stayed cream colored, though. I have no idea why the change. It's still hot out there, but we have had a few cooler breaks when it rains. We had no rain in June and most of July.

When I first received by Brugs I had spider mite problems so I started using Bayer's 2-in-1. Now, I may be full of hot air, but I swear that my Brugs utilize the fertilizer I give them much better for the first few weeks after I use the Bayers.
Please, let us know if your Creamsickle attains any color.

Your flowers are GOReous!!!

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

That is so PRETTY! I love that the blooms fall straight down. Mine tend to be more outward. The heat is taking a toll on the few blooms that I do have.

How long do the usually last?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I can't wait until my scrawny little Creamsickle grows up to flower! Beautiful flowers Charlotte!

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

That IS nice. I see people comment about this one alot but I guess I hadn't see a pic. I wasn't aware it's a double.

Even more... thanks for the fragrance report!!

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Charlotte, what are you feeding her?

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

she sure is beautiful.

Very pretty, Charlotte. One day I will try this one again.

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

Thank you all..this is the one brug that I have been very pleased with this year. Though she has turned brown rather quickly on previous blooms. My Lordy,...it is so hot and humid here its awful and I have her in mid day and early afternoon sun !

I havent used alot of fertilizer. I repotted her into a bigger pot that I plan to leave her in over winter. I used a staygreen potting soil mixed with compost and some black cow. A little alfalfa pellets mixed in also.

A special thanks to the person who shared this cutting with "newbie" me. I think of you each time it blooms.

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Is this the first year for you to have brugs? Or do you have others?

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

This is really my first summer...I started late last fall. Last summer...I had a Frosty Pink and Dr. Seuss. This year I have..whiskers, butterfly, ollie, jean pasco, cypress gardens, jamacian yellow and candida double white (small hasnt bloomed yet). I also have some Isabella cuttings that I am rooting and some Big Yella .

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Charlotte, do you keep them in pots or outside? You have a big collection for a beginner!

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

I was blessed by a couple of DG brug masters last fall with cuttings. I kept most of them inside in cups overwinter..what a mess. I hope to not repeat that as much this year.

Some of mine will have to take their chances outside with mulch. Here in zone 7a, I mulched with a bunch of pineneedles and Dr. Seuss and Frosty Pink come back fine. I also have in the ground....Whiskers, Butterfly, Jean Pasco, Ollie and Jamacain Yellow. Recently a kind soul sent me Isabella cuttings because I had traded for one that was incorrectly ID'D.

My creamsicle is in a big pot and she will spend the winter in a freeze free area or inside the house. I think I have read that pinks dont survive outside as well..so I will be sure to keep a couple cuttings of Whiskers, Butterfly and Jean Pasco.

I have read rave reviews of Butterfly...her blooms are beautiful but she just hasnt dont much for me this year. I will keep her on the recommendation of others but not on the basis of her performance in my garden this year.

I have a small metal building that my husband built a "closet" inside. Last winter I heated it with a poultry thermostat and light bulbs..it is dark "when the light is off" but keeps the temps above freezing. I managed to overwinter a few brugs and my tropical waterlily tubers.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Beautiful Charlotte. CS is a great Brug that can tolerate cold temps as well as the heat.
A wonderful double to have in the garden.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

So the thermastat woldl turn the lights on and off depending on the temp? How clever. Amazing all the ways people figure out how to keep their babies alive. What a nice brug you have there.

I am praying we have a mild winter here for no way I have room for all these in my hoophouse. I may buy lots of cheap king size sheets though. Last winter my husband was not thrilled with me taking our sheets out in the mud. LOL

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

Yes...the little waffle thermostats are used in chick brooders. Not a perfect situation but cheap and effective :)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey, if it works...........

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

She's beautiful Charlotte
