what is that growing below it ?

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Sometimes they just seem to take forever at this stage. I don't know how far Maya comes out of her calyx but it looks like there might be a little more growth that needs to happen. don't dispair.. if it got to this point it will definately happen!

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh it'll bloom. You should've seen those buds on the plant I trucked up to Nan. Many were at these stages and by the time I got up there they were limp and tendrils were turning brown. Nan says she started blooming the next night anyway and is still going.

Sometimes it seems to take forever. They should open soon, if not today then tomorrow for sure. My maya has 3 blooms starting to open too.

interesting plant , is it a creeper ? Leaves look alot like Illinois Bundle-flower but that's where the resemblance ends..

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Imzadi, I'm sure Scoot is right about the candlelight and music. That's about the only thing I didn't do for my cuttings and they didn't make it. (Although I did sing to them...) They sure look great. I'll be watching for pics when they do open. Good luck!

Imzadi, looks like a peanut plant to me. Arachnis hypogea.
Or maybe not. You got peanuts in your bird feeder?
