I have a mountain cat to put in. Who is this charming fellow? He is from 60 miles north of Lake Tahoe at about 6,000 ft.
Finally!
He's COOL....that's what he is! :-)
What an amazing creature!
That is a caterpillar of one of the Tussock Moths in the family Lymantriidae. It looks very like the White-marked Tussock Moth (Orgyia leucostigma) http://bugguide.net/node/view/21899/bgimage
Rich, your "clear shot" is ..... well......WOW! What an incredibly cool little guy he is! :-)

I think that's the ace buster on the lab finals at FTU? (Fly Tying University)
He looks soft and fuzzy there rather than spiny. Still very cool :-)
Love his little fuzzy spiky face.... he's like the punkster of cats.....
