Where will the bud form on it. Do the leaves do like a regular brug as far as having the short side.
I have it looking so much better than it ever has. It has y'ed quite a while ago. I have babied this thing since the first Fl. roundup and I guess I want it to bloom so bad. Patience is not one of my virtures. I did give it one dose of Messenger.
Information on Culebra
I don't know about specifics about it's needs but have some "cultural" type information if you want it. Also the geographical region it comes from. Then you could check the climate, soil, etc of the region. I've found with tropicals that it is helpful to mimic these conditions for best performance.

Good luck Jim,
tiG used to comment on how diffucult this brug is to grow let alone get to bloom.
Looking forward to seeing pictures of yours.

Mine is not even close to blooming so I have no clue. Sorry! But when it finally blooms, please post a pic. This is one brug that has intrigued me for a long time. All I know is it is very slow to go! Lucky you that it has at least Yed!!
hoping it blooms just for you... blessings to you and Bobbie..

I have some blooms on mine. I will try to take a picture today and post it.
Jeremiah
Mine is over a year old and is still only about 6 inches tall. Several times I've thought it was a goner, I'll have to go check on it today.
I killed 3 of them
Not that that surprizes anyone........LOL
Hah cc !
I didn't kill any, haven't had the chance to yet ... lol
Mary, I love yours. I checked mine today and it's still only 6 inches. What can I do to help it along? I really like that one.
LOL CC!!!
We should all track how many plants we kill in a year, winner gets another plant to kill.
It would be a tight race for sure. The funny part about this bugger is that I asked advice once before some time last year because I was like Linda just couldn't get it to grow. I think Ludger told me to put it in a smaller pot. Which I did that didn't help. I did repot it this year and used 40%Miracle Grow potting soil, 40% cow manure (the cheap one at walmart), and 20% sand and I must admit it has grown this year. I have moved it from sun to shade and back so many times I have to look for it when I go outside. This is one that I swapped Gloria Lessner a Red Plumeria for and now that she is no longer with us I want it to bloom sort of in her memory if that makes sense. Any way thanks so much for all the comments. Maybe it will bloom when the weather cools down some. In the meantime back to Adora and Morgansonne and Dr. Suess.
Mary, what kind of light do you give yours?? Last year I totally ignored mine and she did fine. This year I've had more time to notice her and she drops her leaves, then grows more, she sends confusing messages, I cannot figure out what she wants. Yours is the most beautiful I've ever seen. Is she in a pot or the ground??
I haven't had any trouble with mine dropping leaves.
Sherry I do and I will post it later today. My grandson is playing baseball today out of town and I am leaving in a few minutes. You's looks like mine did the last two years. Gonetoseed told me that he potted all his brugs in 100% cow manure when he potted them up. He is in the business and I think the cow manure does give them something that they need.
GRC, my Culebra is looking good today (we've had scorching heat) and I think I'm going to put her in the ground, with cow manure and see what happens. Then I will try to get cuttings in my bubbler and see what happens. If all fails, I'll buy one, lol!!! Good luck at the ball game, I hope your team wins!!!
Absolutely beautiful, Mary!! I just checked mine and it has quit dropping leaves too. Have you ever tried one in the ground??
AW...I want to try to kill one!!! LOVE the leaves.
Me Too Aloha :))
Such a neat look--no wonder it can be contrary--uniqueness does that to a plant LOL
Margo
She is very nice, I hope you have blooms, GRC!!!!
I got a Culebra this spring because I was interested in the leaves and not so typical bloom. I had read up on them some that they are a challenge to grow.
I found that they are very slow to grow and don't need as much water as the rest of my brugs. I did manage to get it to Y and it looks to have a couple of buds.
This poor little guy had a round with spider mites last month and pulled out of it after a couple neem treatments.
I hope I get to witness a couple blooms next month.
well i committed murder on most mine all my seedlings started from seeds.. but i wanted this one to.. Jim hope it gives you some real pretty blooms.. blessings.. . hope Bobbie is better... Twyla
Kin, your Culebra looks great, I'm thrilled about your Y and buds!!! Mine, at the best, is ho hum, but I'm not ready to throw the town in yet!!! I'm considering putting her in the ground...
YAHOO IT HAS BUDS. The y's y'ed and then I noticed on the new y's there are at least two buds maybe more. Just so proud.
Congrats!!! I'm green with envy...I surely hope it blooms for you...
WAIT!!!wait wait
>Gonetoseed told me that he potted all his brugs in 100% >cow manure when he potted them up.
Jim,that was 100% cow manure compost.I am sure straight cow manure would kill them.I used the cheap stuff from Walmart.Check to make sure it has plenty of sand. Some of the bags do and some don't.It needs the sand for drainage.
Well shucks I better quit giving information on these bad boys. LOL
I should have posted the cheap stuff at Walmart and add sand.
