Hi neighbors,
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Lake Tawakoi State Park in Wills Point, near Terrell..
My question is this : How bad of a drive it is from Lake Tawakoi to downtown Dallas? My info is telling me it about 50 minutes. Can anyone add any info?
Thank you so much for reading.
Lisa
TX info please-not about plants
Lisa,
I can't help you with this, know someone from that area will be along in a moment who can. Just wanted to say that I love it when you come to visit here!
Maggie
thank you maggiemoo,
It has been years and years since I've been to ya'll little bitty state! I am excited about going "up" your way.
I think I figured out what I needed to know, did it the old fashion way...I made a few phone calls...
Lisa, it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to far for you to drive. You should stay down here by the Island. We are not far from where you want to be.
50 minutes is probably right on the money. I have never been to the park, but have been to a few homes on the east side of the lake. The lake looks like most of the other fishing Reservoirs in North Texas and is nothing spectacular, but that may just be because I have lived around them all my life.
thank you sweezel.
susie, I sure wish I had it in me to drive right on through for a visit. I am already dreading the 8 hour drive. I'm up early, leaving in a bit. *yawn*..
Oh well, it was worth a try!
I am in Dallas and there is guy who works with me that live in Terrell...says it take him about 45 minutes to get to work.

Hi all,
thanks to everyone for the info.
we are back, we ended up staying at Chigger...errr, Ceadar Hill State Park. What a fun time we had. The trade show was HUGE. It took us 2 full days to see the whole thing. I have some pictures of a few trees that were at the State Park, I'd like for someone to ID them for me, they were really odd looking.
one more question:
how do I get rid of chiggers???? we don't have these things here and for that I am very THANKFUL! My poor DD....the crease of her knees are full of bites. The park ranger told us to be careful and we were, I don't know how this happened...
Benedryl, the kind that is for topical use, you rub it on the bites. Don't scratch. Here is a link with all you ever wanted to know about chiggers http://www.conservation.state.mo.us/nathis/arthopo/chiggers/
We used to paint them with nail polish and suffocate the little varmints. Stings like blazes if you've scratched first, but stops the itch.
Once you've scratched them, the fall off and can't reattach. I think the nail polish stopped the itching because it coated the skin.
would you believe I never knew you were not supposed to scratch once you applied a itch cream...no wonder I am still having problems.
Sylvia
