I have a few photinia (Red Tips) shrubs for trade. Sorry, none for postage. These shrubs are several years old. I'll have to trim them way back. Due to our drought, they are suffering and they really need a more caring yard to live in. They are alive, and as far as I can tell, they are not diseased. We haven't had rain in about 6 weeks and I don't water (due to being on a well and needing my water for drinking and bathing). They are currently tall and lanky with few leaves. I haven't pruned them since I got them and they are in a field of weeds. Do you get the picture of their neglectful existence? LOL
Would love to trade them off for named daylilies, irises, cannas, hostas, heucheras or other unique perennials. Due to their size, I probably will not be shipping them by Priority Mail but rather by FedX ground. But trust me, if they can survive six weeks in the hard red clay in full sun, with no water, they'll happily hop in a box for a few days.
If you plan on coming to the Garden Party and would like some of these, let me know. I'll just leave them where they are and we'll dig them up when you get here.
I don't yet know how many there are. I'm digging daylilies, irises, and cannas from this field overgrown with weeds. I really thought all the photinias were dead, but in the area I'm working, I found two. I had abuot 20 at one time, so I'm fairly sure there will be more.
