L'amour x Susanne

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

L'amour x Susanne #1. This is one we have dubbed "the missing link", the flowers looked very much like a Datura when it first opened, some are held totally upright, some horizontal, and some nodding.

Both lovely. Boy, #1 is unusual, is this the first blooming for it?

Edited to say, #2 is a beauty too.

Very pretty Marilyn, I am waiting for my Susanne to bloom for the first time. I have two big buds about ready to open. I can hardly wait.

Mary I have a pink with the "outward blooms" but not near as pretty as yours, but I really like the blooms being where they can be seen easily.

Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. She is just beautiful.

Your missing link is so cute!

I really like #2 &3. Long tendril just fascinate me! Hope to see lots more pictures. I'm on vacation from work for 2 weeks and plan to spend lots of time on DG looking at all the beautiful brugs.

I love that, but then I'm drawn to the unusual.

I do prefer the nodding ones; what fun to see an upright bloom, and such a clear pink, too.

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

OH Mary! I am simply in LOVE with that bloom! I l really love the way that stands up!

Is this one of your crosses? Do you need someone to trial in in Ohio LOL I would love to have that one when it's available!!!!

Here is a new L'amour x Susanne seedling. I may not get to see these flowers fully open, but they were so close, so I decided to open them up, and the flowers were already turning pink inside the calyx. They are very big, long, fat buds.

Don't know what will happen to all my great seedlings with the approaching hurricane, gonna just lay them down on the ground and cross my fingers.

I hope it misses you and everyone is safe and sound. Looks like this one may be another pretty one for you.

Oh, Mary, I so hope it misses you and that your place will be safe too. I wish there was some way to help all of you. My family is scattered all over the path of the storm, no matter which way it goes, my prayer is that it will dissipate before it hits land. Good luck and keep us posted when and if you can, take care and be safe!!!!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Oh Mary, please stay safe!! I had seen where all major roads leading to New Orleans are only outbound now, are you anywhere near there???
I will be keeping all of you down there in the path in my thoughts and prayers
