Chiropractic for dogs?

Our four year old Mini Dachshund, Ozzy has "tweaked" his back and despite a week on steroids he is still in pain. Our vet is recommending we see a vet who specializes in acupuncture and chiropractic for animals. Have any of you heard of this, had experience with it, thoughts, advise?
