First Passionflower Bloom From Seed...

St. Paul, MN(Zone 4b)

Hello All.

While a Passiflora incarnata bloom may not be a big deal to true Passion Vine afficiandos, it is to a novice like me, particularly since it's my first Passiflora flower from seed! I thought I would share a pic.

Very nice Erick! It's always nice to have something that you started from seed bloom:-) I have a few things (non passi) I've been waiting on for years lol.

Thank you Indigoez. There's nothing like that feeling of accomplishment. I have several other Passifloras that I'm waiting for their first bloom, but that won't probably happen until next year now. It's worth the wait!

Way to go, Erick! So is the second year for the plant from seed?

Thank you Donna. Actually this is the first year. I started the seeds in February, and only one sprouted at the end of March. I was hoping I would get a bloom or two this first year, and it looks like I will get at least a dozen! I feel like the proud parent of a new baby (without quite so much responsibility!).

Plants that you start yourself are a real reward when they bloom. That is a very pretty one. I am still waiting for mine to bloom, but like you, I will probably have to wait till next year for it.
