The symptoms you describe sound alot like spidermite damage.
I found nothing, and the leaves are very green no discoloration,
hmmmm ... Maybe cooties? My biggest x candida tree has a few twisted green leaves at the tips of two or three of its many branches. It never gets any worse and hasn't spread after over a year. But those tips never flower anymore either. I'm beginning to fully understand a friends explanation of why he prunes his brugs as needed. He calls it tip die back. If I could reach it I'd cut those parts off so it could get new fresh growth.
