Oh!! Well, what is the variegated creamy thing behind it in the top photo?? A philodendron?? Devil's Ivy or something. That is very nice too!! WOW!! Does the rootbeer plant root easily?? Grow fast?? Good for hanging plant or how are you growing it?? Houseplant obviously. Thanks!!

ya gotta keep it in a pot. Can be very invasive. Likes shady damp areas. Good for bog areas. The plant behind it is a varieagate elepant ear.

I just got one of these. I like the way it smells but hubby doesn't like it.

Yes Lisa, my root beers are blooming too. They surprised me when I saw them last week. I didn't know they would do that.

They smell like root beer?? Anyone care to root a cutting?? NO biggie if not, just sounds like a cool addition to my Ivy, etc collection!! I am not good with all houseplants but this sort I do well with. Variegated Elephant Ear??? Did you see my ears perk up?? I LOVE ears!! HAve any small pups?? (I know GREEDY, greedy person! hehehe) Bonnie

Bonnie,

No need to take a cutting. These guys send shoots off underground and send up plants. I am constantly pulling them out of the ground to keep the canopy effect from the main plants.

If you keep them in a pot, they will remain under control. And yes, when you disturb the surface tissues of the leaves, they smell like root beer.

Let's talk another trade? We keep doing this now don't we. :^))))
