Hi Folks! I'm delighted to be a member on Dave's Garden site! I've often clicked on links to this site during plant searches in Google but found some of the features were not available to non-members. I didn't register for the longest time because I am a very active member on several other forums at the moment and didn't think I could handle another timewise. Well, I am so glad I DID!! I am thrilled to be poking around in here now with all the 'restrictions' lifted. I paid for a two-month membership and am pretty sure I'll be doing the whole year one very soon! lol I am still finding features in here that delight me!
My gardening interests... oh dear... where do I begin?! lol I have been doing some lasagna gardening, seed exchanging (mostly on the GardenWeb Cdn exchange and some in the Canadian Gardening magazine forum), and I do a lot of trading of plants with my gardening buddies here in Pembroke. I have just started doing "Winter Sowing" - first year. I am HOOKED I tell ya!! lol Is there a forum for that in here? I am still trying to wade through all the forums! I also am an amateur sculptor and haved been making garden art for the last few years. You might find me in the Hypertufa forum! lol Oh and probably the Handyman forum... I fancy myself a bit of a 'handywoman'. ;~)
So you can expect to see a LOT of postings from MarlyMar in the future! (MarlyMar is my nickname as is Marly. Someone had already taken Marly as a member name so I opted for my other handle! lol)
Marly
Introducing myself... I hail from Pembroke, Ontario
Big welcome to you Marly. It's a bit quiet on the Canadian forum in the summer, with everyone on holidays and out in their gardens. It will probably pick up more when it cools off.
We all want to see pictures so if you have a few to post we'll be waiting.
Out to the weed patch for me.

Welcome Marlymar....we need more Canadian members so it is great to have another member. I'm sure you will learn lots and meet some great gardeners here.

Greetings from Cambridge, MarlyMar!
Goodness me, where have I been!!! 2 new Cdns. Big welcomes to you both from Manitoba, land of lilies and digging iris - not to mention weeds at the moment.
Edited to read 3 THREE new members.

I've already been in touch with Marly privately as I noticed her on the list as a new member. She's just up the valley from me. But let me also publicly welcome her to the Canadian Forum and the rest of DG.
Pretty soon we'll be able to make an Ottawa Valley forum. LOL
Ann
Welcome to DG and the Canadian Gardening forum Marly, from Ginny in Ontario's West Coast! I look forward to hearing all about your gardens, and seeing some pics.
Nice to meet you Marly. Another welcome member from Ontario. I hope to learn from you as I haven't had any experience in "Winter Sowing", and wonder if it might be something I could try. As an amateur scuptor, I hope you have checked out the Garden Art forum. Looking forward to hearing more from you Marly, and if you can, please share some photos of your Garden. We all love to see pictures. :Donna from the Southern Interior of BC.
Welcome Marly
It's super to have another northern folk to share information with!
Ann from Edmonton, AB
Welcome to Dave's Marly. I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of your garden art.

Welcome from Quebec!
Welcome Marly from just east of Toronto. Glad you found us here in the Canadian Gardening Forum. Funny you should mention winter sowing. This year was my first attempt at growing plants from seed, and winter sown seeds were the only seeds I planted last winter that survived for me. Easy as pie Donna!
Christine.
Hi Marly - I'm new here on "Dave's" too! I live NW of Toronto in Orangeville. Gardening is my passion though I have to spend most of my time working (selling real estate). It's sure nice to talk to other gardeners ! Judy (Sammigirl)
Welcome Marly from Northern Ontario.
Welcome from Riverview, NB

Well, I'am approxametly 30-40 mins from you on the Quebec side..Nice to see how many are joining in from the surrounding area.
Happy gardening !

Welcome Marly!
Isn't this place great? Loads of friendly folks, and I've already heard about (and seen pictures of) so many new plants that my head is swimming.
Would love to see pictures of what you have growing, and to hear some more about winter sowing, which is a new term for me, except for wheat, which most of us don't grow . Though I may try some amaranth next year in a spot that has an ugly fence and a gazillion roots in the ground.

Big welcome to Sammigirl and Marly..
You two will soon be addicted.
Lots of friendly people and help for any gardneing questions here.
It is also a great place to show off your blossoms.
This is my mystery rose..don't know the name..planted a yellow one on top of a pink one that I thought was dead..anyway..this is what makes gardening fun.
Cheers,
Carol
Pretty rose - almost looks like a peony it's so full.
