This beautiful flower is growing wild near our house.

Kobold is a cultivar. You'll usually come across the species plant in the wild. Is this the species plant and not Kobold?
This plant is growing wild. I would assume that this is the species plant. It is fairly widespread around here.
Wow georgeous. I would love to see something like that here in the desert
You have beautiful plants growing there. I wish I could grow many of the cactus family as their blooms are among the most delicate and beautiful of all plants.

Trois - Beautiful photo, but are you certain that it isn't Liatris pycnostachya (Prairie Blazing Star)? Prairie Blazing Star is native in Texas; L spicata isn't. Personally, I prefer L pycnostachya to L spicata - I think it is more beautiful.
I put it on the ID forum and this is what transpired. There was more than one picture. I agree that whatever it is, it is beautiful. None are blooming right now, so I am not able to take more pics at this time.
Thanks, trois
