Does it have a trunk that the branches are growing on? Your's is very full. How did you accomplish that?

I have one that I would love to have look like yours! It probably won't though in my zone 7...

Hi, I saw the photo of yours when I uploaded it to the PlantFles. It looks nice and healthy. The one in my photo does not belong to me and is the largest one I have seen. It has one very thick low branching trunk from which the other branches have emerged. The older branches have thickened and are large in diameter as well. It grows this way naturally and that is why it is called a tree cholla. I do not think that anyone did anything to the plant to encourage its fullness. There is one in my neighborhood which is about 20 years old that is not as large as this one which is growing in one of the oldest neighborhoods in San Antonio. Be sure that your plant has soil that drains well and do not water it a lot. I would just let yours do its thing. It is a beautiful plant and I am sure that you will love it. :o)

Thanks. I plan on taking a cutting to keep inside in case it doesn't make it outside, where I'd like to plant it.

I actually bought it to cut up. Lol. I want to trim some now and then to use as perches for my birds and hermit crabs. But it'll be a long time until it's big enough for that.

It is easily started from cuttings. May it flourish and bring you much pleasure. :o)

Thanks!
