PLANT SWAP FOR GARDENERS IN AR, TN, MS, MO, KY, ETC

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

I'm hosting my third Garden Party in Sept. We're thinking Sept 24 unless anyone has objections.
The party will be at my house in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I'm only one hour north of Memphis.

We plan to meet at my house, do some trading, go out to eat at my favorite pizza buffet place (pizza, pasta, bread, salad, and dessert for about $5--all you can eat).

Then we'll tour my best friend's gardens. Gail (GardenerGail) and I met online. She lives about 10 or 15 minutes from me. We recently installed a water garden at her place and she's just dying to show off. Let's give her the opportunity, shall we?

We'll also tour my neighbor Shirley's gardens which are on the Master Gardeners Tour of Gardens each year. She specializes in named daylilies, irises and louisiana irises, as well as other perennials. She also sells, so bring a little extra money if you think you might like to buy something. The tour, of course, is free. Shirley loves visitors.

We also have a Nature Center that was completed about a year ago. We can visit it too if you'd like. They have an "interactive" movie we can sit thru and a museum and gift shop as well as various hiking trails and gardens on the grounds.

Then we'll meet back at my place for more swapping and maybe some "plant poaching" from my gardens, if there's time. We swap anything we can--plants, seeds, books, birdhouses, windchimes, anything. Some of us will trade plants for bags of soil, mulch, big pretty rocks, crafts, jewelry, anything at all (whether garden related or not) that you think you can trade. And there are always plants left over that people beg you to take off their hands. So check around your place. Some of that stuff you might plan to put in a yard sale might just be something you could trade here for plants and seeds.

Feel free to bring whatever beverage you like. We'll have water and tea available here. You can bring snacks and cookies if you want. (Chocolate is always welcome!) But don't stress out over it. We're having lunch in town, so there's no need for a potluck and all the hassles of trying to decide who's bringing what. I'm trying to make this simple and easy for everyone.

I should have enough chairs, but if you have lawn chair you can easily bring along, that would be great. If not, don't worry abuot it. Just bring yourself, some friends, and something trade.

If you'd like to attend, please post here or email me for further information. Everyone is welcome and bring a friend.

Here's my website with a few pictures from my Spring swap which was a 3 day event:
