Astilbe collection

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

As my astilbe are mostly peaking now (a few have passed ) I'd thought I'd share some of the ones I grow in St. John's. This is 'Amethyst' the first astilbe I ever bought...back in 1985.

and finally my favourite combo right now, Astile 'Glut' with Monarda 'Cambridge Scarlet'

Lovely Todd. My favourite has to be Amethyst. Gee that's a pretty color. :)

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Lovely Astilbe but I'm struck by the Monarda. (see the thread
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/536639/ about my "Cambridge Scarlet" ). I'll try again for that color.

They're all lovely Todd, but the Fanal catches my eye.

Ours are well past their peak.

I forgot this small one, Astilbe simplicifolia 'White Wings'

I have that little white one too Todd. Bought it cause it's suppose to be one of the longest blooming. Well it's not blooming any more, and I didn't think it was that long. How does it perform for you?

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

No better than the others I must admit. I find the A. taquetii 'Superba' to be the longest lasting.

That's good to hear. I bought that one this year and it's just starting to bloom.
