Absolutlely amazing!! Don't you just love the beautiful large banana leaves? I sure do. What is the yellow flower in the lower right hand side of the second picture? It sure is pretty.

I just love the look and what you've done. Your pictures have given me ideas of what to do on one side of my house. You've done an amazing job and I see LOTS of super tropical plants in there. BRAVO!

It is an Allamanda. I have this vine one and another bush one. I like this one better
because the flowers are alot bigger. Funny thing was I have had this one for several
years and it hardly bloomed-till the end of the year. This year I told it-you better bloom this year or you are going in the compost pile because I don't have enough storage space in the winter to keep something that doesn't perform. It has been blooming like crazy!!!!
WOW....how big are the flowers on this Allamanda? I'm noticing the blooms over the lights. Are they really that big???? They are beautiful!!!

Yes the blooms are very big. Here is another picture. As you can see the grass is brown. We have been very dry but I make sure I water my flowers!!

Bougainvillea-They have been blooming great this year. Good year for them hot and dry. Yes, I am getting very tired of watering. We finally got some rain this weekend!!!

OK, this is MO, as in Missouri, what they heck?!! Looks like the tropics to me! You have lots of humidity there even though you are dry right now? And are all in pots, even the banana and you haul it all inside? questions!! Inquiring gardeners want to know!
You need to add your zone under your city so we all can be aware of what can be done north of the tropics besides several others here in colder zones.
I am printing these pics out and taking them in the back yard for inspiration and showing it to my plants, Kell, theres hope for us yet!

Thank you all for your kind words. Tropicman we both know you are still the King!! Kell the vine is a mandevilla. Sue, we do have lots of humidity and good soil-I don't have to do anything to it. I do not have a greenhouse so I have been working the past three years on things I can overwinter in the garage and house. The garage is attached and when a cold snap comes I have to run a space heater for a few days. I just make sure it stays above freezing. The past few winters haven't been that cold so have been lucky that I don't have to run the heater very often. The average temp probably stays around 40 in the garage. Yes a majority of the plants are in pots. Most of the banana's are planted in the ground and so are the brug's and elephant ears. They just do so much better. They have gotten so big this year it is going to be fun digging them. One good thing about putting the brugs in the garage is you don't have to cut them back to fit through the door!! (also don't have to deal with the mites) This way I can have blooms in late May-early June. Here is a picture of the base of my orinoco from last year. I had to cut it down because it was to big to for me to handle. This spring these 3 babies came up and boy have they grown. One more thing I might add. When I bring my plants out in the spring they look terrible!!!! I keep them alive this way but not thriving. Lots of them don't have leaves so you don't have to worry about the leaves burning just stick them straight out in the sun....

bruglover, I think you're running neck and neck with Tropicman! I've created a swimming pool here just by drooling! You're so lucky to be able to overwinter everything in the garage. Everything is lush and beautiful!!
