Saturday's Pictures

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Another gorgeous day here in BC's Southern Interior. Strolling through the garden, I took some more pictures. First is "Orange Profusion" Zinnia. Grew them from seed that I got from Joelle (IMCanadian) and I really like them. Going to harvest the seed and plant again next year.

Next is some Purple Pansies that are still "going to beat the band"!

This is Celosia, an annual that I really like. It came in a tray with some pink and peachy orange colored ones. But this red is so vibrant. It's my favourite.

Last, is my pot of Diascia. I showed you this plant before in early summer. It has really grown and filled out nicely.

Here's what DH and I like to do on an afternoon like this. First one to the hammock!!!

I love the vibrance of Celosia too, but I never have luck with mine...they always die within a few weeks!

That's too bad, sugarshokt. Do you buy them as bedding plants or are you starting the Celosia from seed? I didn't have any problem with mine and when I bough them as bedding plants, I got the last of the dregs in the nursery; they were literally salvaging a couple plants from 3 trays to make up one. They grow very slowly though, and the other colors didn't grow quite as big as the reds.
