Fertilizer on Clearance at Walmart - will it work for Brugs

Osage City, KS(Zone 5b)

I put this in the Dirt Cheap forum but got no feedback - maybe a better spot would have been here with all the fertilizer discussions ......

Is Azalea Fert 30-10-10 for a box with the 6 pouches for 3.00 a good buy ...... ? Even though it says Azalea, Rhod, Cam fertilizer - can it be used on Brugs, Nanas, Ears, Hosta and Hibisicus.... ?

Should I go back and buy some .......

that is very high nitrogen be careful you don't burn them if you use it

Well it would do good for my azaleas..thanks for the tip....I would think the nitrogen would be way too high for brugs...Judy

High N. will give ya lots of foliage at the expense of blooms ;-(

I would use it on my 'nanas tho. Tanks for da heads up

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I'll have to check that out for my azaleas and camellias, but I don't think it's what the brugs need.

Did you say burn??!!! You can bet I won't be using it, whew!! Scoot do you have bananas?? I have two and they love it here. Do you use this type fert on them?? My bananas are busy guarding my newly planted brugies from the afternoon sun...

Hey Sherry, I also put a banana out for some protection for the brugs. Smart minds work alike..LOL It has helped shading some from the afternoon hot sun.
I think the 30-10-10 would be too much for the Brugs. Like scoot said nice foliage with the expense of no blooms. Then the nice foliage would look excellent to some of those spider mites and so on......
